How do you prove yourself in this business? You prove yourself by going out and wrestling night in and night out in gymnausiums, bingo halls, armories, bars, convention centers, festivals, conventions, and birthday parties until you make it to Japan, and, or Mexico then you bust your ass and try to get over there where wrestling matters. Then you send your tapes to the big boys back home in the good 'ole U.S. of A and hope against hope you can get your talents displayed on national television for a major promotion. That you can be entertaining and tell a good story inside the ring and be provokative and interesting outside of the ring. The total package. In Baseball they call that the five tool athlete who can do it all. It's a rarity. Many have two tools, some have three, some have four, but very rarely does anyone put it all together and have all five in droves. Some work their whole lives to improve, to grow, and expand their game giving their blood, their sweat, their tears, and physical well being to Professional Wrestling just to stay in the game or come to the realization they're the best three tool athlete they can be or they're just the icing on the cake but not the actual cake itself. For some proving yourself takes on a different form all together in that you've got supreme confidence, you have a voice, you have a message, and you have the "it" factor that every promotor craves to have in their talent so they can maxumize their ratings but you've been hidden from plain sight or even overlooked in the past. And for you it takes someone to see the greatness in you and to squeeze the diamond out the coal and forge your greatness through the flames of high stakes competition. And that is where Ev The Great comes in. To many in the United States a Diamond in the Rough, to many fans world wide a bonafide star. Greatness can only be hidden ofr so long and sooner or later |
